Since I was a little boy, I have always been interested in the possibility of the paranormal. I say possibility because as much as I would love to believe ghosts are real, there still needs to be more solid evidence.
When I was in 5th grade, my aunt gave me a Shark Embryo in a bottle. She gave it to me because she knew that I was in love with "weird nuts" so she thought I would love it. She gave it to me because originally it was my cousins but it freaked her the f**k out so much that she kept it in the basement... AWAY FROM HER.
Within a week of having it I noticed weird things happening around the house. Items would be missing and turn up in the weirdest places, at first I figured it was due to carelessness, but I still hoped it was due to another factor. I would hear footsteps at night when no-one would be awake, I could hear whispers of my name when no one was home, and I would have cold "spells" throughout the house. I did my homework and found out that there was a 15-year old boy who hung himself in my house before my parents moved in. Since that day I looked into the possibility that the house was haunted.
In 1996, I moved from my house in the city to a rural street located right outside my city's limits, and of course I brought the shark with me. Along with the move, weird nuts happened again. I would at first blame the new home because it seemed like it was due to poor conditions of the house.
The water would lose its heat instantly, a black suit would back-up in the toilet, the house would CREEEEEEEEEEEKKK!, and the basement flooded almost every week.
After suing the previous owners and getting new plumbing, the problems seemed to go away.
As time went on, more weird stuff occurred. First I would hear footsteps in the attic above me. That didn’t bother me as much since I was used to that from my old house.
It wasn't until many years later that the real "nasty stuff" started to happen.
Like before, some of my belongings would turn up missing which i seemed to overlook. Then my room would have "cold spells" in it. Only in certain areas the room would be chilled.. more than other spots in the room. I couldn’t explain this since it was in the summer too. I would also be in my bed late at night and watch my doorway out of my peripheral (sp?) vision. I SWEAR I could see a dark figure peeking around my doorway and looking at me until I would turn my head and try to look at it.
All around my room, I had posters in plastic frames. These frames were made out of thin plexi-glass and held together by 4 removable plastic frame ends. (Bought at Wal-Mart... hint hint). Each poster stood 4 feet from the ground. there was 1 on the wall that had my door in it (poster of Link from "Zelda 64"), another on the wall to the right of that next to my bed of a memorial poster of Kurt Cobain (from MTV unplugged, it had the lyrics to "dumb" on it),
behind me was a poster of BMX legend Taj Mihelich, and finally next to that was an Etnies Promo-poster.
I woke up one evening at 3:33 am. I woke up because my Link poster fell down and hit the floor. before I could get out of bed, my other posters soon followed in order. I would love to believe that it was coincidence, however, come on, that’s f**kin FREAKY!. I picked up my posters but the Kurt Cobain one was JAMMED in the heater. this was odd because there was about 1cm space b/w my wall and the heater. You would honestly have to try super hard to re-create getting that frame stuck in the heater. The worst part was that the frame broke. The bottom piece in still lodged in the heater to this day. My parents have tried digging it out with pliers, crowbars, everything. IT WONT COME OUT!
this is a picture of me holding one of the bottom frames from a diff. poster with the frame JAMMED in the heater. As you can see, we've painted the heater including the frame!
As weeks went by, I could hear whispers again. I could also "feel” something odd in the air. Hold your hand as close as you can to your face w/o touching. ...That's what I would feel, ALL THE TIME.
My TV would turn on randomly, my CD player would turn on randomly, all the while without lights turning on or anything.
A couple of months went by without any occurrences. then one night all of my cd's fell off my shelves. It seemed that the only time major things would happen was when I was in my room and more often than not, when I was trying to go to bed.
These occurrences interested me so much that I wrote my Senior English Term paper on it. (i got a 97 on it).
I learned that what I might have is a manifested poltergeist.
when I would be in my room changing, the shark in the bottle would be on my shelf. It was eerie because I would look at it out of the corner of my eye and I'd swear it would be watching me, everything I did, it would be watching.
The shark itself (i believe) is a black tip shark. It is suspended in formaldehyde. The weird thing is that it would CHANGE POSITION occasionally. I would come home and the d**n thing would be spun around.
Another weird side effect of the shark is that any person who stays in my room gets a horrible nightmare that night. It's getting to the point where my girlfriend refuses to come over until "that thing!" is out of the house. I simply hide it in the basement like my cousin and aunt did, but cant help to be fascinated by it!
I was convinced to try taking photographs of it. I took some yesterday, and the pictures that came out speak for themselves. I assure you that there are NO smudges, streaks, or fingerprints on the bottle, nor was the picture of the shark altered in anyway.
This picture is what showed up when I took a picture of the shark itself. It scared the crap out of me.
I have tried spraying my room with blessed holy water from my catholic church... no effect.
I am just waiting to see what happens when the pope dies.
thank you.
